Travelling to a new country and you don’t really know what to eat? Here are some most famous dishes you need to order while in Morocco!

#Harira - tomato, lentil, chickpea soup served with dates and sometimes eggs. If you think that the bowl with the soup is small…you’re more than wrong. It’s one of the most filling soups ever. The taste is definitely not easy to describe but once you try the soup, it will become one of your favourites.

#Chicken Tagine - #Tagine is a special Moroccan dish in which they serve some of their most famous food. My favourite one is the chicken tagine, served with veggies and covered up in all kinds of delicious and unique moroccan spieces! You can also order vegetarian versions with typicall moroccan veggies (usualy peas, potatoes and carrots).

#Halwa Chebakia - my favourite sweets, the sweetest I have ever tried in my life! Snail looking cookie covered in honey and sesame. (It may not be the yummiest description, but once you see the picture you’ll understand what I meant!) You can find them everywhere - on the markets, in restaurants and if you sleep in hotels/hostels they will definitelly treat you with some!

Starter plate - when you order one usually you’ll get a basket full of moroccan bread with up to 5/8 different bowls: rice bowl, carrot bowl, olive, some betroots, chickpeas and many other typically moroccan dishes which you can see in the picture below.

Mint #tea - thats a must, sometimes you don’t even have to order one. They are always served in their beautiful dishes made with fresh mint and they’re quite sugary. It’s definitely one of Morocco’s symbols of welcoming a guest in their home.

Breakfast - if you stay in a hotel, you’ll be treated with the most delicious breakfast ever eaten. A typical moroccan breakfast is usually sweet (lots of pastry, MOST DELICIOUS PANCAKES, jams, fresh orange juice and in some places sunny-up eggs). To be fully honest I think it’s my favourite country when it comes to breakfast options.

If you’re trying to do as low cost trip as possible, don’t worry. All of those treats are quite #cheap. Maximum 8 euros for a dish. Morocco is still a very cheap country to visit, and food-wise it’s veeeery delicious. Especially thanks to the original spieces that you can’t find in any other European country.
